Season 2009

Berlin has several good open air cinemas and they present a broad selection of blockbusters and classic films under the starry sky.  Treat yourself to a pleasant evening under the moonlight. The “Cassiopeia Insel Kino” is just a few steps away from the U inn Berlin Hostel and you can reach the “Freiluftkino Friedrichshain” and “Freiluftkino Kreuzberg” by public transport in just 10 minutes. Just ask your friendly  receptionist for details.

Note that Germans like to sound-dub most of their movies so you’ll need to look for one that says  ‚Original‘ in (or under)  the title.

		Freiluftkino Friedrichshain In Volkspark Friedrichshain www.freiluftkino-berlin.de   At this open air cinema, idyllically located in a large park, you sit in an amphitheatre. Highlights in 2009 are the Gay-Lesbian Park Festival(August 15) and the children moonlight feast (August 29). Daily open from May 21 until September 20.
		Freiluftkino Hasenheide In Volkspark Hasenheide, Neukölln www.freiluftkino-hasenheide.de Watch blockbusters and movie classics in the midst of green trees in the former open-air theatre. As there are little snacks and umbrellas you won’t get hungry or wet. Daily opens from May 20 till August 29 at 9:30 p.m. or at nightfall.
		Freiluftkino Kreuzberg Mariannenplatz 2, www.freiluftkino-kreuzberg.de In one of the oldest open air cinemas of Berlin you watch films from all over the world from Japan, Norway, Israel, Hong Kong and Palestine - often original version with subtitles. Daily open from May 1 till August 30, 2009. The movies start at 21:30 p.m.
		Freiluftkino Schloss Charlottenburg Schloss Charlottenburg, Ehrenhof www.openaircharlottenburg.de Here you can enjoy from July, 23 until August, 7 movies in the courtyard of this beautiful castle, which offers enough space for more than 1000 film freaks.
		Freiluftkino INSEL in Cassiopeia, Friedrichshain www.freiluftkino-insel.de Also this summer Freiluftkino INSEL is hosted by the Club Cassiopeia in Friedrichshain. On Mondays, Thursdays and Sundays you can watch independent and classic films, documentaries, as well as blockbusters.
