“ï»żWe call it Wasserschlacht” Food fight at OberbaumbrĂŒcke August 28th 2011  0

Cat.: Allgemein, Event, Kultur, Staff, U inn Berlin Hostel
30. Juli 2011

Wasserschlacht oder GemĂŒseschlacht – Water-fight or Food-fight! Call it as you like! The last Wasserschlacht took place in 2008 at the OberbaumbrĂŒcke between Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg. And it was an epic event. No need to guess who won the fight coz as always Friedrichshian WON!! Why we do it?

Simple answer! Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg were once 2 separate districts. But politicians made a decision and now it is one big district. They take care of all the basic stuff like new street name signes and so on
But they forgot the far most important question. Who will be the king in the new born district. hat’s what the fight is about and so far Friedrichshain always wins. The last Wasserschlacht took place 4 years ago and now Kreuzberg claims once agin that the throne belongs to them.

“Participate in the vibrant sounds and beats of FĂȘte de la Musique – the European and Worldwide Music Day! The FĂȘte de la Musique began in Paris in 1982, and was founded by the popular French cultural minister Jack Lang. The festival originated in a humble burst of musical idealism and a few power connections, and yet, in only two decades has become a wildly popular global event.

This season, the summertime musical event will draw music lovers in over 340 cities worldwide, 60 European cities, 22 of them in Germany alone. On June 21st one can hear all styles of music that is free to the public thanks to all of the musicians, bands, orchestras, choirs, soloists and DJs that perform for free on this day. In Berlin, FĂȘte de la Musique has been produced by the FĂȘte Company since 1995. The festival started as a small movement and has grown to be one of the largest and most widely attended music festivals our city offers!”

The street procession focusses on the cultural richness of Berlin, and also highlights the often hidden treasures of its international cultural scene. It questions everyday life and politics. Berlinale goes Kiez und U inn Berlin Hostel goes Berlinale  1

Cat.: Berlin, Event, Kultur
29. Januar 2011
